I have seen these fire shotgun shells for sale. They claim to fire out a flame for around 3 seconds. Has anyone actually used one of these. Wouldn't it probably just fuck up your barrel by over heating it. I would figure that after around 3-4 rounds of these the gun would be so hot you would need gloves. Does anyone know if these are safe to use?. I wouldn't want to fuck up my 12 ga if I had one.

I have seen them. Heat doesn't matter. After 4-5 shots the barrel is very hot anyway.

There not all that good, their just exotic and fun. And cost 15 dollars for 3.

I just saw thse shells in a military surplus catalog called "bird chasers" they fire around 100 yards and explode scaring away the birds sounds like a fun thing to have, in the same catalog they have these shells that fire a solid lead, dowel shaped bullet out of a 12ga, in other words...big bullet

You could use the dragon rounds in a zip pipe shotgun as a one shot flamethrower. Use a 3/4" pipe for a barrel with a 1" steel pipe and end cap to be the firing pin.

Look for my post in the IW section on pipe shotgun in december '99.

I think the dragon fine rounds use something like white pospherous that burns on contact with air,it might go off just form opening it(the shell). I could be wroung though.
