I have just made the rocket launcher(which look's the biz)
so going with the launcher I made a rocket 2 go with it and when I tried to launch it with a 9v batt, iit didn't launch what went wrong am I using a 2 low voltage
(on the pack It recommends that I use a 9v batt,
I didn't think it was the batts fault so I put in another detonater and still nothing happend
(oh and by the way the detonater is not burning at all)
also if anyone has a good web site for making rocket fins could you please send me the URL
thankz

You have to make sure no wire is touchng together anyplace on the launcher. If the wire is, the current doesnt go to the ignitor. also check that the wires on the ignitor are not touching, that can be very annoying.Oh yeah, make sure the 9v isnt dead

Test to make sure the 9v is not dead before doing anything else. If it isnt, what kind of igniters are you using? How much current/voltage do they require? If they are Estes rocket motor igniters a FRESH 9v battery will work fine.

Note: 9v batteries dont last too long when being used for this purpose.

Those little PP3 9 volt baterries don't have enough power (not voltage) to burn an ignitor after about 6 inches of wire.

Use one of the large 6 volt lantern batteries or a small 12'v battery (available at radio shack, their 6x4 inches)

no ideas on the ignitor, but there is a cool rocket launcher on Lowery's Makeshift Arsenal at: www.go.to/explosives

I know about the lowrys rocket launcher thats where I made mine from I thing=k I know why it's not working now as there is about 13/14 inch of wire so I will hace to use a 12v batt
(and as for getting the batt from Radio shack I can't as i live in the uk)
so i will have to try some oother place
thankz for the tips

If you live in the UK go to Maplins. The best one is in Watford, it sells about 20 sizes of 12v batterys.

The problem is if no wires are touching and the battery isnt dead is that the wire is to big. not lenth but how many volts it holds. try to get a 9 v wire, i have and i have about 4 feet of wire and it still ignites.
