Has anyone try to burn KMnO4??? I have, I put the whole 25g on top of the empty Al can, and set it on fire, then, all it does its become into a very bright flame, and then, when the fire is out, i took a look, then, all is left is some black shit, from the powders, and the Al can is gone, so, can it act like themite, and how many degree ll the Al melt??

Aluminium melts at about 650 degrees C. Are you sure that the KMnO melted it and didn't react with it ?

You can't burn KMnO4, it's a oxidizer, not a fuel! And what you did was heat the aluminum can (probably with a flame with high heat) until the KMnO4 melted in and burned the aluminum to Al2O3. The reaction is hot, but not as hot as thermite.
