I am looking for information on safe-cracking, safe-punching, and safe-blasting with shaped charges. Book titles or websites would be great. Also schematics for various models of locking mechanisms in sentry safes would be great too. Also, I was looking for the post titled "shattering steel", I cannot seem to find it. Is it in the downloadable "explosives" forum library? Thanks for any info. |

That would be in the Improvised Weapons (IW) archive I believe. There's a book called "Techniques of Safecracking" available for like $14.95. Buy a copy. Look on amazon.com. ------------------ Search the archive before you ask. http://members.xoom.com/forumlibrary |

Hi NBK, SWIM had ordered the book "techniques of safecracking" which was reccomended. He told me it will be 4-6 weeks delivery, As it is sent from publisher… I will scan it and send it to you (with your permission, of course). Feel free to post it in the forum library Thanks for the help/reference of book. [This message has been edited by Marshall Mathers (edited May 19, 2000).] |

Sentry fire safes are total crap. I went to the Sentry website before, and you can buy replacement keys for the safes. All you need to do is send them the serial number of the safe and $5. They then send you two replacement keys, as I remember. |

I have tried this already . A friend of a friend has about 50 (new in box) sentry brand safes of the larger variety. Various models which nearly ALL of them have different locking mechanisms (such as.. electronic push button locks, key and handle combination safes, and regular combination safe locks. They are still brand new in the box and we have the combinations to all of them. We are using them to experiment. When we called the sentry manufacturer the said they could replace the "keys" to the key safes if you have the serial number, which is not printed on the safe. The only way to get access to the serial number is to find the registration card that comes with the safe when it is brand new. We are going to use some of these safes to see what will "blow"pry"punch"crack" open. If all goes well.. I will put some pictures up of the damage done. |

Sentry safes are very easy targets to break open. Slam them with a sledge hammer or an ax. They're basically a sheet metal box within a box with insulation between the two boxes. Marshall, when you get the book scanned in, do it in TIFF format at 300 dpi. That way I can OCR it in PDF. Makes for a much smaller file size. And then it can be text searched. Sure I'll post it in the forum library. Be sure to e-mail me before you send anything. I have to make room in my mail box. ------------------ Search the archive before you ask. http://members.xoom.com/forumlibrary [This message has been edited by nbk2000 (edited May 21, 2000).] |
