Dogs get your scent from dead skin cells that you constantly disperse, thats why things like staying close to the ground are good because it will leave a narrower trail which would be harder to pick up. Not letting your skin dry up would be a good idea to somewhat limit how much you drop, but where in the hell are you going to get skin cream in the woods, hehe. |

I just read something about special deos for eliminating human body odor, which was originaly designed for special forces too evade dogs, but it's used by hunters, too. Something similar is available from http://www.buckstopscents.com/coverfood.html |

Those products only cover up a scent and can wear off or be ignored by a well-trained dog. The most important detail is to prevent the dog from having any scent to smell, period. Here's a product designed to be worn and absorb odor before it can reach the air. This is the 3-D camofluage version. The suits are reuseable by heating in a cloths dryer. It's a couple hundred dollars for the whole outfit. http://www.scentlok.com/ For a one-time use, a person could use a surplus NBC suit with charcoal cloth for the same purpose. They cost about $40. A person would do well to set boobytraps on their trail to take out the dog and the handler. This not only stops the persuit, but reduces the polices asssets, making future operations easier. ------------------ |
