AAA's, AA's, C's,c and D's have carbon, zinc, and ammonium chloride. well thats what my science teacher told me. you have to buy lead acid battery's. like car battery's or some lamp battery's(big lamp battery's)------------------ C:\>deltree C:\ are you sure? y/n: y BEEP!

you know, you can just buy sulfuric acid from auto shops and such. Its a lot easier than trying to remove the stuff from batteries.

AA's. Nice try but they only contain zinc, ammonium chloride etc. Their dry cells. What you need is CAR batteries. Go to your local scrap yard, auto supply store etc... and get hold of some. Then, take out the plugs on the top of the battery and pour out the acid. This may contain pieces of lead so you should filter it. Battery acid is only 40% concentration. So boil off the water (outside on a hotplate) until you see white fumes appear. ------------------ Whoa, where my fingers?

Also note that those white fumes are very toxic!

The easiest way to get sulphuric acid is to go to a hardware store. Go to Home Depot and look in the drain section, you'll find 98% concentrated sulphuric acid and 38% muriatic acid. They'll both be in a 1 liter bottle wrapped in a thick plastic bag, there are also bigger bottles. Also, the local hardware store will have it too.Let me know what happens?

the easiest way I've gotten around ID is to buy a plunger along with the H2SO4. and for the HCl I usually buy a gallon or so of some other cheap brick cleaner, I can usually use the junk i had to buy to get around the age thing.. this may not work for you. and you may just be able to buy the products seperate. but I have always had the best luck when buying other stuff related to the chemical I need. dlwdaw------------------ C:\>deltree C:\ are you sure? y/n: y BEEP!

Ironwarlock, Filter the lead? lead is heavier than H2SO4 and H2O, it will settle and remain in the bottom, but there could be some impurities of lead sulfates in the acid. You can find nitric acid in disney land..
