I just made a batch of AP using 3% H2O2, 20% HCl(muriatic acid), and nail polish remover. it worked but i only got an amount comparable to a pinch of salt. if i use 30% H2O2, 98% acetone, and 98% sulfuric acid...how much higher in general will yields be? |

use real acetone not nail polish remover. using 3%h202, 31.5%hcl, 100%acetone in an 8:1:3 ratio will yield about 1/4 unit of crystals lightly tossed (ie density is not changed by packing). that is after sitting in the fridge for three days. sitting in the fridge for a week will yield even more, maybe up to half the unit you used for synthesis. ~m3nth~ |

Always use the chems with the highest %, I was making AP with 6% H2O2 32% HCl and 100% Acetone, now I use 12% H2O2 and I get sooo much more AP. If I mix up 200ml of 12% H2O2 165ml Acetone and 50ml HCl after about a day I get 25 to 30g's of AP! good shit! ![]() Matt (DTK) |

I make my AP with 12 percent hair bleach peroxide (40 volume) also, but I use 200 ml h202, 300 ml acetone, and 100 ml of muriatic (32 percent) hcl. I stir it for 2 minutes before I put it in the fridge. My last batch gave me a really high yield (I haven't measured it in grams yet, not until next batch). |

using high percentages of H2O2 and Acetone will improve your yield but the concentration of acid will only affect the speed. the acid is used as a catylist so it does not matter what kind or type you use. the higher the % the faster it will be made but using 90% will PRODUCE the same thing as 20% ------------------ http://members.xoom.com/Splynncryth |
