Actually, they say it's power comes from the cubane molecules structure. Those atoms are ready to spring apart. ------------------ |

yeah they have some energy stored within the molecule, cuz the angle between atoms are 90 degrees instead of regular 103 or so degree. But too bad the nitration process isn't simple, take several stages and use additional chemicals besides H2SO4 and HNO3. |
