i have around 120 30-30 rounds, the box says 150 gr. each shell. how easy would it be to pull the bullet out and get the powder ? is there a better way of doing it ? i dont want it to blow up in my face from friction.

First of all, modern fire arms shells (such as your 30-30) don't use black powder they use smokeless gunpowder. Second the 150 gr. refers to the weight of the bullet not the propellent. To remove the bullet from the shell case all you need is a pair of plyers. If you're over 18 its a waiste of time to do that anyway, when you can go to the local gun shop and by a one pound can of double bassed smokeless powder for under $20.

Another source of powder (I'm guessing it's smokeless) is from nail guns that use what look like "blanks" to shoot the nail. The blanks look like .22's and are crimped at the top. All I did was use pliers to squeeze the top flat, then squeeze it the other way and the top opened and I poured out the powder. If you add acetone to this powder it turns to "jelly" just like powder gotten from bullets.

you're still going to be paying more to get powder than if you just went out and bought it.

Yeah i dont know why you guys go through the trouble and COST of taking apart bullets. I mean i regularly buy powder for reloading, and they dont even take my name down unless i am buying more than 3 pounds. Although i usually buy around 9 pounds each time i go hehe.
Most goes for reloading, but some is for experiments.

I believe you may even be able to find barrels of the stuff at a gun show(USA).

it is still cheaper than the same amount you would extract from excess shells. if a pound is $20, that is a whole heapin lot of powder for maybe more money than you want to spend but if you are making stuff with the powder in shells, one pound will last you forever. buy in bulk, you save money--simple fact of life.
