The topic "Hydrazine?" by MR COOL described the most powerful explosive astrolite-G, it was less than 1 inch away from your topic, ironically. Astrolite is made by mixing ammonium nitrate |

Astroglith is not the mightist explosive there is an nitro explosive but i ve forgotten the name of it. |

Hexanitrohexazaisowurtzitane (HNIW) is the most powerful explosive known. |

How easy is it to make Hexanitrohexazaisowurtzitane? Hexa-nitro-hexa-azai-iso-wurtz-itane? What the heck is wurtz-? It's a person's name and also name of a process but doesn't seem [This message has been edited by HMTD Factory (edited January 20, 2000).] |

HNIW is on Megas page on explosives. It's WAY beyond home manufacture (unless your Bill Gates). Even Astrolite is basically out of reach. ANNM is about the most powerful explosive within realistic (affordable) reach. ------------------ |

The most powerful explosive is more likely then not still classified or under development. HNIW was first prepared about 10 years ago, it is only now being developed for mass use. But, it's the best we have so far. The information on my page is about as good as anyone could ever hope to get them, even so the chemicals and the process does require a good deal of skill. RDX, TNT, and AN mixtures are nearly as powerful and economical. ------------------ |

I knew HNIW from looking on some web-sites,and reading books. HNIW (HEXANITROHEXAZAISOWURZITANE) HNIW was discovered in 1987 by Arnold Nielsen at the Naval Air Weapons Center at China Lake, California. It is the densest and most powerful explosive known. It is prepared by the careful condensation of glyoxal with benzylamine, followed by hydrogenative debenzylation, acetylation, and, finally, nitration. Because its production cost is high, its development as an ingrediant in tactical systems has been slow. However, its outstanding performance as both explosive and I obtained this information from a small book series called "Macmillian Encyclopedia of Chemistry"-i think that is how it's spelled. And later on in another page it said that: On another page it also showed the Nitro-cage |

Can you post the site uberchlor? |

YEAH!! Good Joke!! But I think we are still talking about non-nuclear explosives. ----------- MEGALOMANIA, have you ever tried out the method of making CL20, you are describing on your webside or is it all theoretical? And I also think that we have spoken many times about which explosive is the strongest. |

The website was german, it didn't have a bundle of info, just compared the detonation velocity and density between HMX and HNIW, forgot the address. I'm pretty sure you can find it anywhere on the net... Still looking for more info on it. |
