Hi I have just registered to this wonderful bbs and would like to say Hi.

In addition I would like to get a few questions/comments out of the way.

First off is an observation, recently I noticed that a laqur sold at home depot is labeled as nitrocellulose and was wondering if any one new if that was the nc laqur as is common in pyrotechnics.

cynauric acid. I recenty found this for sale at Big K and also recall it as being a precursor so some composition but can not remember from were (it was a valid source).

benzene=petoleum naptha ? is this true I've hear it's the same.

To Mega, I remember a post that you said parachlorobenzene (the other moth balls) can be used to synthesize benzene wich can be used for many things.

ap. well it's over I'm posting one ap now every one is going to call me a KeWl BoMeZ.
But answer me this hydrocloric acid or sulfuric I would be nice to get a definet response but it ain't likly.

How do those unregistered posters do it I have no idea how they even can?

well that's it nice rambling thanks to all who respond constructivly.

Disclaimer : everything void and all thought involving this post is the responsabilltiy of owner all spelling mistakes are purly coincedental.

The laquer should be useable in pyrotechnics.

No idea about cynauric acid.

Benzine and naphtha are not the same, though both along with gasoline come from petroleum.

Either will do, since any acid will do, just some will get better yields than others, between h2so4 and hcl, get whatever is cheaper or more available. But sulfuric acid should be used for better purposes like making nitric acid.

You see, new poster, but NOT a KeWl BoMbEr. I know there isn't much point posting this message, but we should see more people on here like this.

I found out that Cynauric acid could possibly be used to make cynauric azide a primary explosive similar to lead azide

thanks for the replys

I was also wondering about somthing I saw on this form. Somone described bending the nozzel on a propane torch back on its self to make a device. this is very simple but looks like it woud work like a BLEVE (boiled liquid expanding vapor explostion)
the only problems I see are running out of fuel or that it wouldn't ignite.

This is my edit as apose to new post that I hope gets noticed.

Another thing that I have been thinking about would be to use epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) to make sufuric acid. let me explain. I was checking though an old chem book and saw a plan for a battery that used a plastic cup (or container),a peice of lead sheet in a spiral with two leds (something like this),and a solution of epsom salt. To charge the batery you would run electricity through the leds. Now my question is would the solution change to sufuric acid ?

In making magnium with the epsom salt would it be a powder

If both procesess work it would be fairly easy to make large quantites of suluric acid and mg powder

I know this is off topic but I have a browser called Bomis that will kill this popup that caused me to lose some off this post http://bomis.snap.com/

If there are other uses for cynauric acid please let me know.

Nuncuka I know you can use pingpong balls but I thought buying gallon cans would be easier thanks anyway

Does any one know the size fireball/explostion the propane rigg wold make?

Fucking Feinston trying to ban guns to.
Ban acetone yeah right and this remines me I read that testosorone considered is a controled substance witch would make all men felons

This the last edit (maybe)

Mega could you go over the Grignard reaction just the jist of it would be fine thanks.

Also can urea nitrate be subsututed for AN (ammonia nitrate) I know UN is an explosive just not whether it will work in AN compounds. I thik it's less hydroscopic too.

I know I'm asking a lot any help would be helpful thanks

Thanks again for the repsonses nad please excuse the spelling errs yeah I know I'm over doing the smiles

A propane torch wouldn't run out of fuel before exploding. The heat will volatilize the fuel at an ever increasing rate till a huge flame is coming out the nozzle. The pressure will keep rising, and eventually the pressure will be so high that the can will rupture releasing a superheated cloud of propane vapor.

BOOM!

If you're worried about the flame going out before the vapor can be ignited, use a lit road flare a few feet away.

Ahh.. Cyanuric triazide.. more powerful than lead azide and mercury fulminate.

I remember Petroleum naptha being the name to another hydrocarbon, not benzene, i forgot, could be a way of classifying petroleum hydrocarbons. I think unregistered users can't post anymore.

And for preparing ap; i would use hydrochloric acid, it has that 'milder' touch to it.

---

As for the other substance: it would be called Cyanuric acid (HONC)3, not cynauric acid, cynauric acid if exists (which i doubt it does, but is possibly some sort of synonym for another compound) would be some sort of compound of gold (cyano-gold compound).

As for Urea nitrate in place of ammonium nitrate, i wouldn't try it! Since urea nitrate is like an acid (but it's action is milded from the presence of the urea content), and acid is usually never a good thing in explosives.

As for the info on the meth thing, thanks mega. I think that nothing can keep people from preparing chemicals, they are all around us, they can be made and remade, over and over again. However, i think that these laws are not properly fair for those of us don't misuse the chemical substances.

(MEGA'S NOTE: please edit rather than post a new)

Alright, mega, but i think it would get annoying and more difficult to comprehend a thread by enlarging your original post, skipping info, or not knowing what they poseted before is a usual problem..like this.. then all the messages become so huge...and you wouldn't know exactly to what is being responded to..confusing...delete this part of the message after you read it

p-dichlorobenzene is one of the most readibly available and cheapest sources of the benzene ring. It is a simple matter of conducting a Grignard reaction. The only problem is getting magnesium metal which is now restricted by the Methamphetamine Control Act.

As for AP, the acid does not matter, some may be better than others, but the reaction is acid catalyized.

Unregestered posters were allowed to post replies until Saturday, upon which I became fed up that they tended to reply little one liners several times instead of editing their original post. The possibility also existed for any lamer to post crap, the same reason why no unreg could post a new topic.

are the Mg fire starters pure magnesium or do they have additives in them to make them more useful?

I believe they are pure Mg metal. That is one possible OTC source, but they are very expensive for what little you get. I have been toying with getting it from epsom salts, magnesium sulfate, a virtually limitless supply that's cheap and available to all.

SOFAKING: if i still remember some pyrotechnics, NC lacquer can be made my disolving ping-pong ball in acetone (or something like that, i don't remember it well). i don't remember the ratio but i'll try to look for it and post it next time.

Meglomania: I have a whole lot of epsom salts on hand and I always thought that they could make something... interesting, but I could never figure out what. What kind of things have you been "toying" with?
Thanks

When did the Methamphetamine control act take place???!

The act was enacted in 1996 I believe, I had a copy around here somewhere. It is the doing of ultra liberal Senator Diane Feinstein of California.

Ahh, here is a direct link to her stupid website advertising her crappy legislation.

The Comprehensive Methamphetamine Control Act of 1996

This is only a brief desc of the act, I was unable to locate the full text... I did discover this jem of pending legislation

"2) PROHIBITION- It shall be unlawful for any person--

`(A) to teach or demonstrate the manufacture of a controlled substance, or to distribute by any means information pertaining to, in whole or in part, the manufacture of a controlled substance, with the intent that the teaching, demonstration, or information be used for, or in furtherance of, an activity that constitutes a Federal crime; or

`(B) to teach or demonstrate to any person the manufacture of a controlled substance, or to distribute to any person, by any means, information pertaining to, in whole or in part, the manufacture of a controlled substance, knowing that such person intends to use the teaching, demonstration, or information for, or in furtherance of, an activity that constitutes a Federal crime."

They want to ban knowledge! Similar legislation has been proposed for explosives. It's just that, damnit, the stupid First Amendment keeps getting in the way...

If you can search the US Code ( http://www.law.cornell.edu/ ), try United States Code Title 21, chapter 13, subchapter 1, part A, section 802. This has a small list of banned chems, including:
(A) Acetic anhydride.
(B) Acetone.
(C) Benzyl chloride.
(D) Ethyl ether.
(F) Potassium permanganate.
(G) 2-Butanone (or Methyl Ethyl Ketone).
(H) Toluene.
(I) Iodine.
(J) Hydrochloric gas.

I don't think that the acid content would have an effect on most AN comps, like ANFO, ANNM, ANNM plastique, AN/AL, Astrolite, newspaper smoke, and things like that.

Also Feinston did manage to get the anti-bomb bill passed.

I think that I spelled everything correctly

Ho Ju did you check out the second part of my post I give a process that's unverified but any ideas would be helpful

Like i said, acidity is almost never a good thing in explosives, and could cause unwanted side reactions, you can do whatever you feel like doing, i'm not going to stop you.. :-/
