I found an interesting patent for a real simple air-burst fuse that is basically a wheatsone bridge with one of the capacitors being the bombs body. It uses 2 resistors, a capacitor, and a transformer. The one thing it needs that I can't figure out is an AC circuit. It uses a DC power supply (battery) that then feeds into an AC conversion circuit. I'm thinking a 555 chip or 2 diodes, but my electronics skills suck. By the way, the patent was assigned to the army as a bomblet fuze in 1967 but not publishes until the mid 80s. Secrecy and all that. The should cost less then $10 is you get the parts surplus, just need the design for the fucking AC circuit. Anyone here know a simple way to do this using the cheapest parts? All help appreciated. I'll post the schematic from the patent when I find it in my files somewhere. ------------------ |

could you please post this design, i have a firend who is pretty good with electronics andhe might be able to help. |

All you need to do is hook up two transistors in a push pull oscilator configuration (look it up for a def. i don't want to give a tutorial). Hope this helps. |

Hopefully I get the UBB code right for this. If I did it right you'll see the schematic above. If not, just copy and paste the URL. ------------------ |

i'll draw up a circuit diagram for this including the pushpull ac signal generator, and post it within the next week or so (my mock gcse exams are rearing their ugly head... ) If you want a hand with any electronic detonators etc. email/icq/yell on the forum for me, and i'll see what i can do. |

nbk - have you got any more info on that diagram you posted? Like values of components or anything? Cheers for any help. |

Unfortunately, the patent doesn't give any specific values, but it does give formulas for finding the needed values. Here's a link to the patent http://164.195.100.11/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PTO2&Sect2=HITOFF&p=1&u=/netahtml/search-bool.html&r=1&f=G&l=50&co1=AND&d=pall&s1=4163423.WKU.&OS=PN/4163423&RS=PN/4163423 . You may need to view the actual patent images to understand what the formulas are though since the html conversion doesn't do a very good job of it I'm afraid. ------------------ |
