Making a large spudgun in the exaust piston syle but out of tough copper pipe and adding another valve to the gun (in the main chamber) can make you one fuckoff gun. Isobutane/propane/butane/methane or a smaller ammount of actylene (not really reccomended) is pumped into the chamber through the new valve , then the gun is pressurised in the normal way. when the solenoid that opens the rear chamber is activated a sparker (car ignition plugs are good) also ignites the pressurised mix of fuel and air. BBOOOOMMMM. Of course an incompetant could end up blowing the whole thing apart but if it is made properly you have an incredably powerful thigey. |

That sounds pretty dangerous. The solenoid valve that you open to fire it, isnt the opening pointing directly behind the gun, where you would be standing. I think this would seriously burn you. Also, the flames would damage your plastic solenoid valve. and lastly, copper piping isnt very strong, it sucks. steel is better. 3/4" steel pipe can hold aprox. 7,500 psi. I also think that the exaust valve would only open for a spilt second, the pressure caused from the burning gas would be enough to close the piston, and then all the pressure/flaming gas would go stright out the solenoid valve, into your face. i dont mean to say your idea sucks, im just saying what i think, sorry no offense or anything. besides, combustion doesnt add much velocity anyways, pnumatic is strong enough by itself. ------------------ |

I think you have the wrong idea here... the design would work differently than you suppose , i will assume I have explained it badly. I also feel that things like the solenoid valve on the rear burning you are rather , well , stupid. If the design was such that that could happen the you could just point it out to one side or forward. Was that really so hard? it will work. I only used copper pipe as an example , and it's the only on I can get so large and thick. PS the pipe used would be about 1-3 mm. |
