Nbk2000 Say your in LA (USA) and the cops are after you and you see the LA River and you know that the cops dont have any boats on the water front (police scanner) and you see a boat ramp ! The cops @ first are going to try to stop you from "sinking" ! But they wont know that you have a car/boat !Then just roll up on the other side or go a bit down on the river. Say you live in Phila and your near the delware river......The cops are on your ass you see a street and go down it and its a dead end, but there is the river and instead of giving up you go in the river and you might have a good chanceof loseing them! I suppose that anythings possible. But if your vehicle is obviously wqater capable like most 6 wheeled vehicles are, then it would follow that the cops might figure up what your up to if your heading towards the lake, river, or whatever. Now, if your target is right next to the river, then that would be a good place to use one. Just hop in, go downstream a little ways to the opposite shore, and hop out into your real getaway vehicle. By the time they call it in and get a boat or chopper there, your gone. The bad thing about these things though is that they aren't very solid. Lots of plastic. If a cop rams you, your through. A bobcat is a ton of steel. Much harder. Everything really just depends on your mission. If your on a suicide mission, then you'll want to last as long as possible to take as many cops with you to hell. If your looking to get away from a big heist, then maybe a 6 wheeler near the river would be the way to go. ------------------ |

how fast do those little 6 wheel things move in the water? i am under the impression that they just putz along with no real power or speed behind them? if this is true than it would be suicidal to enter the water. choppers can travel very fast and so can inflatavle rafts with an outboard on them. ------------------ -The eagle may soar but the weasle does not get sucked into jet engines. -The beatings will continue until morale improves. |

I think the 6 wheelers go less than 5 mph in water. It would only be feasible if the river was very close and narrow with no nearby bridges and (ideally) no helicopters for aerial tracking. Possible but not likely. Better would be to have a Jet-Ski hidden nearby and use the AFV to get to it. ------------------ |

i think you guys are forgetting some stuff.... they will call swat... and swats job is to take care of the problem.. the snipe if he gets a green i'm sure he will take you out.... BTW the columbine massacre, the swat didnt go for the killers then all they did was rescue the ones that are still alive...... |

you Know what. i had a thought. this bobcat is not used for out in the open, it is not meant to evade heli's and fast movie cars, it is used for a closed in urban setting!!! (i know nbk you brought it up first just hear me out  ) why do you even have to take this thing out of close nit proximity to buildings. Just use it to infultrate the building so no one inside can touch you (not the normal people or the security)and then when you leave the building hi-jack a car or have one waiting. or take the sewers (if you have a map) or hop into a nearby river. it would be a good thing if you had scuba gear under the water so you could slip it on. and if the river lead out into the ocean that would be better.------------------ -The eagle may soar but the weasle does not get sucked into jet engines. -The beatings will continue until morale improves. |
