Forklifts aren't going to work either. The extra lengths of the forks greatly increases the space needed to maneuver. And a forklift usually can't turn in its own length like a bobcat can either.

While a forklift can lift things a bobcat can also lift (or push) things with the scoop (or ram) on the front.

So obviously a bobcat is superior to a forklift.

nah i would rather use a forklift any day of the week. i just do not trust bobcats. and what would strike more fear into you? a bobcat coming at you with it's scoop or a forklift coming at you with its forks...? think about it.

I'd be most afraid of the one that could chase me into a building and pin me down. Either one could kill you, but a forklift can't squish you if your between the forks. A scoop can cut you in half. And fork lifts often need more than 8 foot vertical clearance which prevents entry indoors. And I've never seen a forklift move as fast as a bobcat.

you keep saying that you need something small so it can fit in doorways. A bobcat can not fit in a door. neither can a bronco or a forklift. i am assuming you are going to use these things out int he open. that i swhy i would want a bronco loaded with tons of shit. but a forklift, like i say before does have possibilaties.

Fork Lift has poor acceleration capabilities. The fork lift is pretty tall too.

I'm not talking about household doorways. Public buildings have much wider doorways. The smallest bobcat will fit through most public doorways. And why are you so scared about the bobcat tipping? It has a roll cage. Just don't try to pop wheelies and you'll be fine.

yeah but you keep saying that the bobcat is fast and small. it does not matter if you are being chased and you can only go in a starit line. try and turn and bam you are fucked.

Ho Ju, ever hear of brakes? Just slow down before making any sudden turns. Forklifts aren't any more manueverable than a bobcat. Less so in fact. So the forklift is a dead issue.

i was using a forklift as an example. a bobcat is a shitty idea for a "poor man's tank" they are relitivly slow, and have a high center of gravity. you keep saying that you want to enter buildings with it? why, i would not trust one of thoughs things on a flight of stairs so you would be limited to the first floor. And you say use brakes? you go from what 20 miles an hour to 5? both speeds suck. it is a great idea on paper but it won't work in the real world.

Come up with a better alternative than a forklift or bronco and I'll listen to it. It needs to be compact, maneuverable, able to outrun a man, fit through large doorways, and readily available. It doesn't have to outrun a car since it won't be going on the streets but rather maneuvering through urban clutter. Assuming that your in an urban environment. Needs to have enough mass to ram down doors or windows, yet be light enough that it fall through the floor.

And a bobcat could be modified to go up stairs with a pneumatic piston on the back attached to a wheel. The piston is extended when the bobcat is about to go up and keeps it from backflipping. Like the safety wheels on motorcycles being tested. Same for going down too.

alright maybe you didn't get it (hell maybe you did but...) the two, the bobcat and bronco, are examples. i guess if you put enough shit on anything it would be a good Tank. but i am thinking of more cost effective solutions.

Such as? You can't get more cost effective than stolen my dear friend. Steal the damn thing from a construction site. Or a rental yard. And the bobcat isn't an example, it's fact. Patented even.

yeah i liked that to VeHeMT. Alright i guess you could steal it but that sets you up for big trouble (especially a bobcat) before you can even get the thing up and running like a tank. if you are going to steal all the parts ou have to be damn good. especially the weapons that you are going to put on it, the metal, the pnuematic thing (used for the stairs.) there is alot to steal there.

blaze has got a good point. you know that when you do something of this nature it is either going to be a suicide mission or you are going to be locked up for life. unless there is someone you care for and that will get your wealth when you are gone you do nto need to steal.

Now you guys are catching on to what I'm thinking. Better to die a young somebody than an old nobody. Ed Gein, Charles Manson, LA Bank Robbers. Those muthafuckers are going to be remembered. The cops who arrested or killed them are still nobodies.

And unless your totally broke, you don't have to steal everything, just the bobcat. As a matter of fact you could rent it first, cut the plates and everything you need, and then return it while you store away the plates for when your ready to say "FTW!" (Fuck The World). Or rent it within a day or two of your anticipated suicide mission . Don't have to worry about late return fees. HAHAHA!

And I don't believe that it necessarily has to be a suicide mission. Get to an enclosed space like an underground parking facility, lay down a cloud of smoke and gas to blind the cops, escape down a storm drain (plan ahead) and blow up the bobcat. The cops will think you suicided and until the bobcat is put out, they won't know that your gone. By the time they realize, you're long gone.

Quite true, but nothing wrong with living to give a repeat performance. And you can always look forward to the movie of the week. Maybe a book deal, hollywood movie credits, appearences on talk shows and network news. Lots of fame and publicity. Let do lunch. My people will call your people.

that really made me laugh i like that. But don't you think a talk show would be slightly on the "bad" side if you are a wanted felon? just a thought.

Why dont you go and steal one of these 6ed wheeled amphibious cars/boats (I forget the that name) can go just bout anywhere .
They can go in water, roll up on land,up steep hills (with right tires). There big enought to fit 1-2-3 (diff. models). The 1 man i'm sure is big enought to fit in any doorway.........Crap , I sure the 2-3 man is big enought to fit in any doorway.Anyways just fix this car/boat up and , You can just about out-run the cops ! You can catch them off gaurd by hitting the water ! And it would take the like 2-10 min to get where you are (if there are no boats in the near by area) Anyways Later !

do you remember when a guy stole a tank and went on a rampage with it?? he made headlines but is forgotten now.... also do you not recall the police opening the hatch and killing the guy?? lets see.... say you have a bobcat tank... and i'm a cop.... i'm armed to the teeth with an HK G-3 and a Glock at my side... and the added protection of a flak jacket..... ok so you go on a rampage... i get called up.,..,. i come see the tank... sneak up to it and open the hatch (or other way you get into the veichle) and shoot you..... and remember this is all suprise so you have no reaction time..... or say you have a lock on the hatch... again i take advantage of the limited area of vision you have and sneak up to it and slap a explosive charge onto that sucker with a 5 minute timer and then i back off.... BOOM no more prob... the ways to take this sucker out are limitless..... police do not like to use lethal ordinance... but why do you think they have snipers? as a last resort! give him the green and blam no more prob... give me the green and i'll fuck that tank up so bad you wont have nothing left but twisted metal...

The guy who stole the tank was a tweaker, high on crank, and he didn't know the equipment. He failed to lock the hatches and didn't surrender when the cops had him. Plus you'll notice that they couldn't touch him until he turtled on the center divider. As long as your mobile they can't sneak up on you. If your still, your dead.

Besides, the intention isn't to try to hold them off for hours till your killed. The idea is to use the shock of the sudden appearance of the AFV to break out and elude the police long enough to make your escape.

The 6 wheeled ATV is often advertised in the back of hunting magazines. Interesting idea. They can climb up much steeper slopes then the bobcat. And it's water capable, but I can't see much use for that ability in an urban setting.

And Ho Ju, I was talking about after your capture, not while still loose.

alright that makes more sense than. but one thing. the kinda stuff that would be done with a thing like this would get you locked up for life, if not fried. that is why i would have to go on a suicide mission. the thought of prison time scares the living shit out of me.
