Harnessing Lightening+: You will need to procure a roll of very fine copper wire like that used in DC motor windings, and one model rocket. Connect one end of the wire to the rocket, and the other end to the top of a flag pole. Mount the rocket on top of the flag pole with a straight piece of coat hanger wire. Run your leads quite a log distance from the pole to the firing box in an enclosed structure (building or house). During an electriclal storm fire the rocket into low clouds as they pass overhead. Lightening will hit the rocket, vaporize the wire and follow the path to Earth. Options: 1) Run a heavy cable from the flag pole to the schools electrical wiring or generator. This will fry the wiring and may even light the place on fire. 2) Tie an enemy to the pole. Nuff said.

Thats the same experiment I threaten my girlfriend I'll do. Everybody seems to think I will call lightning down upon myself, hmmph. I just know there are a few useful chemical reactions that could be forced with a good ol 1.21 GW blast of juice. ------------------ |

I saw the same thing you were talking about on a tv show that proved that lightning comes from teh ground not the sky. It had the same setup. The rocket the wire. But they did not harness it for anything. ------------------ |
