The device is a bullet(s) rigged to fire at the recipient when the small package or envelope is opened.

To prepare the bomb the terrorist takes a bullet apart and pokes the primer out with an ice pick or nail. Next a flashlight bulb is broken, keeping the filiment in tact. This filiment is poked in through the primer hole in the bullet and the rest of the bulb is taped in place behid the bullet. The bullet is then put back together, refilling the powder and replacing the lead with pliers.

The terrorist tapes the bullet to a piece of 8 1/2" x 11" cardboard and then solders leads and wires the device into a complete circuit. Or he prepares three more bullets the same way and wires them into a parallel circuit. The bullets point in four different directions.

The terrorist has a multitude of switches at his disposal from Radio Shack (aka Bombs-R-Us to federal bomb investigators). Most terrorists choose a miniature lever switch, also known as a micro-switch. Others may opt for a simple homemade loop switch as used by the most infamous bomber of them all, Teddy.

Both switches fire when the device is pulled from the envelope. All good bombers disguise their bomb as some innocent item. Our terrorist simply wraps the piece of cardboard and its circuitry in a piece of gift wrap. He pokes a hole where the lever switch is so the lever rests flush with the 2-day priority cardboard envelope.

When the pacage is opened the lever switch or loop switch closes and completes the circuit. The flashlight bulb filiments in the bullets glows red hot thus igniting the gunpower and firing the bullet(s).

Some terrorists opt for barrels for the bullets. These can be simple affairs as they will only be used once. Hobby shops and hardware stores offer a selection of tubes and pipes that can be cut to fit the terrorists package. They barrels he cuts are no more than a couple inches in length.

This bomb will also work with shotgun shells but require a bulkier package. Some terrorists cut square holes in the cardboard the size of the shotgun shells and countersink them. Then duct tape is used to hold them in place in the square holes.

A lever switch has three prongs and can be wired to be normally open or normally closed, depending on how you hook it up.

This device, as is, will work 100% of the time. Its been tested by the feds at their bomb school.

Multiple bullets in a parallel circuit, as mentioned in the post will increase the odds of a hit.
