The Trench Coat:

The Trench Coat has now firmly etched it way into Amerian history. It is perhaps the most feared garmant ever created. To wear the Trench Coat is to demand respect. People have come to fear what the mysteriuos man in the dark Trench Coat might have on his mind. Is he merely protecting himself from the elements? Or could he be on a mission of immense importance; enroute to his date with destiny which will transform our way of life and forever place him in our history books.

In America, a man doesn't need to go to college to be a remembered as a historical figure. People who go to college and have careers are seldom, if ever remembered--they are nobodies. Do you want to spend 30 years working and die a nobody?

Wearing a Trench Coat and becoming a serial killer, mass murderer, lone gunman, or domestic terrorist is the easiest way to historical fame.

This is just my rant for the evening.

Good one Mega, perhaps I should buy stock.

While I'm at it let me recommend the method I used for years to carry a 12 gauge sawed-off shotgun under my Army coat. I am from the "Taxi-Driver" generation and back then the big thing was olive drab Army coats from Army Surplus. We are talking mid-70's here, but I have a truck load of gadgets and stories to talk about.

First off you need to saw the wooden stock down to a pistol grip. Today you can buy rubber pistol grips but you'll want to pass on them here.

Bore a 1/2 inch hole completly through this new wooden pistol grip you made. Now take a length of rope and thread it through the hole. Your going to want to tie this rope in a loop. What your doing here is making a shoulder sling to be worn under your coat. The rope will be tied in a loop, hung over your shoulder with the shotgun hanging on your side, under your arm.

Of course, you are going to have to cut the barrel down. But not to short or you'll lose range when you fire it. You'll want a minimum of a 20 inch barrel. Cutting it shorter might look cool in the movies, but when your in combat you'll be glad you left that extra couple of inches. With a trech coat you can leave the whole barrel on. I highly advise you to do so.

To use the shotgun effectively requires practice. Lets say the gun is on your right side. You want to be able to throw back the side of your coat and grab the pistol grip with your right hand, swing the gun barre up and fire. Adjust the rope so this is possible.

On one of my slings I incorporated a length of heavy elastic cord between the ends of the rope. This way I could wear the gun further up with less rope.

Also, make sure you use an "automatic" and not a pump. With an automatic all you have to do is keep pulling the trigger to keep firing. With a pump you have to rack that baby for each shot. It looks good in the movies but can hamper you in battle.

I always loaded my shotgun with several different loads and I knew the order they were in. For a good all around load, I used slugs. I could fire them through car doors or into engines. Today you can even buy pyro loads. Those would be great for firing into a gasoline pump if the enemy was filling p at a gas station.

In one of the Poor Man's James Bond books he has several different loads he made up including one that will pierce a bullet-proof vest. I believe he made the tip on that one out of a drill bit or an ice pick. You would have to use that one at very close range as it would be very unstable.

For informational purposes only.

I've loved hiding (toy)weapons in trench coats since I was 5 years old. I used to wear a trench coat in elementry school. I was in a wheelchair in 6 grade, and in 7th grade I couldnt find any that fit me. now in 8th grade those sons 'a' bitches at columbine stole my 'right' to wear a trenchcoat in school.
fuckin assholes. I wish they would have worn faggy pink coats, then I could wear a trench coat.

I cant even wear a trench coat out in public. I'am quite tall and heavy for my age so the people on the street think I'am 16 or something.
when I wear a trench coat in public little kids stare at me, then the parents whisper dont stare, lets go NOW
and then they walk away. sometimes for fun I like to look suspicious and reach inside like I was pulling out a sawed off shotgun. freaks them out. heh.
I got a really nice trench for 50 bucks at TJ's its got a liner and its black(the best color you can get in a trenchcoat). I also have a leather trenchcoat. I cant remember where its from.

I just thought I'd post in here to show that I also have a trenchcoat, black, and it goes down to my knees

I don't hide any weapons in it as such, but when i get my Ingram MAC 11, it'll be nestling comfortably in my inside pocket

Strange how many people who attend this forum have trenchcoats.....

i do not have a trench coat and i would feel a little wierd in a black one in public. What i was thinking, so as not to look to suspicious, is to get like a tan coat that businessmen/women where to work when it rains. they look good and people pass you off as someone who has an agenda (of the none lethal {sp} kind)my mom has one and i want it.

I have 22 trench coats, six of them are tan, and i have to say that color dosent matter, people still look at you like your crazy. I hate those freaks, who the hell shoots up a school any way, there is no point to it, useless. And those are the kind of people we have been clasified with, some one finds us dangerous, and wants to stop the flow of information through the internet, thinking that will stop incadents of that nature.

Now why should anyone act different in public just cos they have a trenchcoat on?

I only use it to shelter from the elements...

I also own a Trench Coat. I aquired it throught Cadets. I am an Active Member of the R.C.S.C.C. The won complain I do have about it is; I don't have any inside pockets. I plan to get a Leather one(Lke the One from "The Matrix"), when I can put enough "Cash" away. I like them Because in my opinion There is some mystique about a person in all Black, and Esspecially if they are in a "Trench Coat."
